"Always helped me more than any other Bank"
I have banked with the First Trust for 5 years now and have found that while the interest charges and interest paid may be lower than others, they more than make up for it in service. Their internet banking is simple and straightforward as well as extremely accurate.
My father has banked with differing UK banks but was surprised when after opening an account with First Trust that they even remembered his name after a month had gone by when he entered the branch, how is that for customer service. As far as any banking I have done I have not had the problems that I had with others previously and any mistakes have been rectified with apologies and refunds of charges. I cannot recommend them higher than to say all my family now have their accounts with them and are also singing their praises.
"No trust"
I would not recommend this bank to anyone! I have found them to be difficult to deal with, unsympathetic, impossible to get explanations from and I suspect, like most banks, ordinary customers are not what they want to attract. Their charges for unauthorised overdrafts, bounced cheques and direct debits are high and they leave me feeling powerless and stupid.
The strangest thing about them is that as my income has increased, my relationship with them has deteriorated to the point where I dread having any contact with their frontline staff at all.
