How long will it take to repay with the Virgin Credit Card
Balance transfer     Purchases
Fixed payment
By switching to the Virgin Credit Card, you could pay off £1000 in by budgeting £50 each month. This would effectively cost you £50.
Minimum payment
By comparison, if you only make the minimum payment each month, it would take 4 years and 9 months to repay, costing you a total of £1,422 on top of the original balance! If this seems high, that's because your minimum payment is calculated as a percentage of your balance. This means each payment will be slightly lower than the month before which will have less effect on clearing your balance. So be smart and pay as much as you can afford!

"This is a credit card and its a business" Guest, 9th Feb 2011

It makes me laugh and cross when I read the negative comments on here about this card. Comments like 'after the 0% interest period it went up to 24%' etc. This is a credit card and its a business. What company is in the business of giving away free money. You cannot sustain a business at lending at 0%. These people need to get realistic. Enjoy the 0%, pay your bill on time and make sure your balance is cleared before the end of the promo period. Do that, and you have nothing to fear or complain about. Simple.

"Recommend you set up a DD if you use Virgin!" Guest, 8th Feb 2011

Opened account 6 months ago, made each payment on time, and then one month didn't receive a statement and they slap a penal rate and interest and stop the promotional offer. Not what I expect though I know it's in their T&Cs. Given the debt is only some £3k and good earner, they've lost a customer as I have no layalty to them. So gonna be moving my balance elsewhere. Recommend you set up a DD if you use Virgin so you don't get caught out.

"my own fault" Guest, 3rd Feb 2011

Like some other correspondents with a Virgin Credit Card, although payment went through my bank on time, it was 1 day late into Virgin's system. Therefore I lost the 0% deal and was being charged horrific interest on my balance. After only a couple of e-mails I was told they would refund 3 month's interest as a goodwill gesture, and they have. The secret is to pay them well ahead of the due date - even if it means a small overdraft charge on your current account! I knew that credit cards do rescind offers if you default but I was not aware that I had, as I did not check my balance online often enough - another thing you really must do every month - my own fault.

"Be V vary!" Guest, 28th Jan 2011

I took out the zero percent deal and thought it looked very good ,had top hits on the internet for the best and longest deal. I thought that the idea was you paid what u wanted to till the offer ran out then if u had not cleared then it would revert to the standard rate .I had no statement or any contact until some rude gentleman phoned me to tell me i was late with a payment and can i pay with my card.I said of sorry ,yean no prob i paid 100 pounds off and thought that was the end of it .Then the following month i recieved a statement, but noticed the intrest ??. When i phoned them they said of yeah late payment so you loose the 0 and now its 18 percent .. I complained and they said oh ok we can give 1.9 percent .. I paid the next few ok and then in may i talked to a advisor and they said u can get a money transfer,so i did so i could go on holiday. In july i thought hmmm no statement for a while and guess what i had not had one since march. luckyly i had been paying it the same time each month. When i rang up they told me i had missed the mapment by 1 day due to transfer taking 3 days insetad of 2 ..now i have 3000 that i am paying off instead of the 2000 that i am paying 18 percent intrest on ... total con .. make sure you set a direct debit up if you ever get this card ...but if i was you dont bother they get you on what ever they can ,when they can ...
