Nationwide Gold Visa

Summary
Nationwide Gold Visa is provided by Nationwide.

The representative APR is 16.9%APR variable.

New customers will receive an introductory balance transfer rate of 0% for 15 months.

This makes Nationwide Gold Visa a good option if you're looking to transfer an existing credit card balance and don't want to make purchases.
How long will it take to repay with the Nationwide Gold Visa
Balance transfer     Purchases
Fixed payment
By switching to the Nationwide Gold Visa, you could pay off £1000 in by budgeting £50 each month. This would effectively cost you £50.
Minimum payment
By comparison, if you only make the minimum payment each month, it would take 12 years and 6 months to repay, costing you a total of £1,700 on top of the original balance! If this seems high, that's because your minimum payment is calculated as a percentage of your balance. This means each payment will be slightly lower than the month before which will have less effect on clearing your balance. So be smart and pay as much as you can afford!

"have never experienced customer service like it in my Life!!!" Guest, 9th Feb 2011

Applied for the First Direct Gold Card along with First Directs 1st ACCOUNT and Offset Mortgage. I have never experienced customer service like it in my Life. No waiting at all!! Straight through to one of two UK Customer Service Centres. Friendly happy staff and good Honest advice when you need it. Having been with Cahoot previously I can say that First Direct are sooooooooo much better in all respects..... What are you waiting for... Move over... Its great in here.. Good points are 60 Months Balance Transfer of just 5.9% APR and 0% on purchases for 12 Months... 16.9% APR after promotional period ends.. Zero annual fee... Minimum £3000 Credit Limit. It is only available to First Direct Customers and there is no 0% Balance Transfer Offer.

"Avoid this company at all costs" bkuch, 4th Jan 2011

I got the Nationwide Gold card, 0% interest on balance transfers for 15 months, with the sole intention to transfer a balance of over £1600 from my American Express Platinum Cashback card. To my tremendous frustration and for an unknown reason, the transfer from that particular credit card would not work. Nowhere did it say that certain cards would not be eligible for balance transfers, otherwise I would have gone for another credit card. The customer service could not help me, they said they sometimes have problems with Amex credit cards. This is completely absurd and unacceptable as I had previously transferred balances from that exact same credit card to a Barclaycard. If they could do it, why can't Nationwide? Absolutely ridiculous - avoid this company at all costs.
