How long will it take to repay with the Sainsbury's Gold Credit Card
Fixed payment
By switching to the Sainsbury's Gold Credit Card, you could pay off £1000 in by budgeting £50 each month. This would effectively cost you £50.
Minimum payment
By comparison, if you only make the minimum payment each month, it would take 23 years and 10 months to repay, costing you a total of £2,835 on top of the original balance! If this seems high, that's because your minimum payment is calculated as a percentage of your balance. This means each payment will be slightly lower than the month before which will have less effect on clearing your balance. So be smart and pay as much as you can afford!

"It pays to use this card" Guest, 9th Feb 2011

if you are one of those people, like me, who think that banking institutions make too much money from the average customer, then why not consider changing your regular credit card to a Sainsbury's gold card, especially if you are one of those people who are diligent enough to clear the balance each month, every month. A Sainsbury's gold Card will pay you for the privilege of having one, so long as you regularly pay off the outstanding balance at the end of each month. If you are also a regular visitor to the Sainsbury store, then you can earn extra points on all of your purchases. You also earn points on all other purchases, at whatever store you use, when you decide to pay using your Sainsbury's gold card. You accumulate points every month and these are shown on your monthly statement. Depending on the balance of your points, you will receive Sainsbury vouchers every three months. With my own level of spending, and I try and pay for as much as I can using the card, I earn about £40 worth of shopping vouchers every year, do not pay any service charges, and as I pay off my account every month, do not pay any interest charges. Sometimes it pays to shop.
