Metro Bank
Good:
Open late 7 days a week and you can get a current account and apply for a loan within half an hour
Bad:
There are currently only 4 branches in the London area
Verdict:
The first high street bank to open in over 100 years in Britain, definitely worth enquiring about a loan as payout is very fast and interest is as low as other high street banks
Metro Bank is a brand new bank, in fact it is the first new high street bank in Britain in over 100 years. They offer personal loans between £2,000 and £25,000 which can be put into your bank within the hour. Their interest rate is competitive compared to other high street banks and they will even consider your application if you have had bad credit in the past (but you can't currently have bad credit).
To apply you will need to have a Metro Bank account. If you don't, don't worry because they can open one up for you within 15 minutes. All you need to do is go into one of their London-based branches and one of their customer service advisers will help you through the process. After that's done, you can complete an application for a loan. Make sure you take with you: proof of ID (passport/driving licence), 2 proofs of address and proof of income (payslips, etc.) so you can prove you can afford the loan. They will give you a decision there and then and if you are accepted, they can transfer the money into your account within the hour.
They are purely customer focused and so far we haven't heard anything that proves otherwise. They are open 7 days (early and late), they have online banking, they can open you an account and get you a debit card within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they only service a few areas around London but they are planning to expand to 200+ stores around the UK by 2020. If you live near Holborn, Earl's Court, Fulham Broadway or Borehamwood, we definitely recommend you pay them a visit. They are really friendly and will help you with anything you need - you can even take your dog along with you!
