MicroLend will lend first time borrowers anything from £100 - £500. This can be increased to £1,000 if you borrow from them regularly and always pay your loans off on time. For every £100 you borrow, you must pay back £130, which is slightly more expensive compared to other lenders.
You can apply online with MicroLend or over the phone. To apply online, you need to complete the application form on their website. Once you have completed the form, they will contact you within 24 hours, via email, informing you of their decision. They can ask for you to provide them with certain documents but this is the exception rather than the rule. If not, they will send you a loan agreement which you must read, agree to and sign. This is your promise to say you will pay the loan back on the date quoted. They aim to get the funds into your account within 4 hours but it can take up to 24.
Make sure you can pay them back when you say you can or you will be charged extra. They have been known to debit the whole balance from your debit card without telling you, even if you have set up a payment plan. There are a few customer reviews on the web which say that they have been charged a registration fee of £3.50 even though they didn't take the loan out in the end, so be aware of this! But, if you are accepted for a loan, they will refund you £3.00.

I actually spoke to David Greenspan when I took out my loan and really got on with him, interestingly enough I didn't loose my debit card or try to shaft them! :-) I'd rather not say.... save it.

Mr ***** at Microlend is possibly the most objectionable human being I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. He's rude, he's patronising and he's downright nasty! I know he's a money lender but really...! Having borrowed £200 I defaulted on my first payment because I lost my debit card and had to cancel it. Despite trying to explain the situation and how I would correct matters he proceeded to be verbally abusive and harass me at work by calling my colleagues. After several days of this treatment he suddenly change his attitude saying I could pay back the loan in £50 installments and he would even waive the interest. It was a relief! On my next payday Microlend took £50 from my account as agreed but my bank then informed me they were attempting £501, fortunately I was able to prevent that withdrawal. On contacting ***** he was again abusive and threatened further calls to work. He contradicted himself by saying he knew nothing of the £501 withdrawal and then said the additions were for 'hidden charges' for defaulting. I insisted that he provide a bank account and sort code so I could repay the loan that way and despite yet more abuse he agreed. I paid the loan in full with interest the next day. The whole incident was made much more stressful by feeling that ***** was actually goading and laughing at me. All quite bizarre! I had no intension of swindling Microlend of £200 and it's a real pity Mr ***** hadn't the decency to listen to me. My conclusion is - avoid payday loan companies and Microlend in particular, like the plague. X

I have used may payday loan companies and Microlend are by far, the best. I fell into difficulties about 18 months ago and together we set up a payment plan which i could afford. They never threatened or intimated my unlike other companies ! They have been nothing short of efficient, friendly and professional but most of all, human! I now use them regularly and i know they are there when i need them.

would highly recommend, took out a loan with them today, got the money in around 2 hours, they set-up a payment plan for me so i can pay off the capital over 3 months. Not a bad word to say against them, one of the best companies i've dealt with.

i applied and got my £3.00 back, i also paid my loan off on time, i guess if you're trying to cheat don't bother applying with them, but if you're honest def one of the best companies if not the best out there, i agree with most reviews on here, great lender.

I totally agree with Andy from Walsall. I applied for a loan with them and they took out 3.50 without having the decency of asking first or explaining why. Other payday lenders will take out 10p to a pound but this is only to verify your account which is fair enough and then they will pay the loan into your account. Just taking out 3.50 from your account and not even giving you a loan is a total joke. Do not apply to these robbers

Such as a lot of other people on here i have had a really good experience with Micro Lend. I REALLY CANNOT DISAGREE MORE with some of the bad reviews on here, it really doesn't do them justice, i have found them to be quick, honest, professional and helpful. It looks like most people who have had an apparent bad experience have missed payment and possibly ignored them; i'm certain if you are honest with them there is no reason why you should have any issues! They have a great human approach to lending, very honest and nice people and quick at responding to emails and paying out the loan. The only lender i have used who actively encourage to pay off as much of the balance every month, not just the interest. I would use again if i needed and recommend to honest people.

Have borrowed from them a few times now, needed to get some assistance in repayment as i got a little over my head in loans, set-up a repayment plan directly with them, didn't go through a debt management plan, they agreed everything in writing with me and i was able to repay over 4 months without any extra interest. Today they debited my last payment and stuck to the agreement, i would recommend but be careful not to ignore or you'll get charges added to your account and stuff.

It seems most reviewers on here are from people who missed payment and for some reason or another were trying to default on payment, no wonder they're upset!!

Firstly you go to these people desperate, and they get their reward with 30% interest ( 30/100borrowed. Not bad for 1 month) . However if you have any problems and re negotiate with this man still expect him to randomly attack your account for smaller amounts. As others said he will also text you on a private number even on weekends, also threatening to ring your boss every 10 mins over 50-60 quid. Think long and hard. I'm taking on advice to report him to consumer credit.

Had problems paying a loan of £260. I lost my job. I tried to negotiate with David Greenspan, but he was not interested in what I had to say, he just wanted payment. He threatened to send my file to the POLICE ! He wanted to accuse me of fraud, claiming that I took out the loan, with no intentions of paying the money back. David Called my Ex-Employment and spoke to staff there to find out were I was ! He called me and text me and he bullied me and harassed me so I paid half the money. I have reported them to the FSA and I am waiting to here back from them. Microlend should not have a licence to give out loans if they are going to threaten people like this. You have been warned ! Take out a loan with these guys and if you do not pay them back they will make your life a misery. My advice is to avoid them at all costs.

I then got a text message saying they were going to call my employer every 15 minutes until my employer made me call them. When I eventually called them - I was asleep and not in the office - they were very apologetic and said I needed to appreciate that people were always ducking and diving to avoid payment. I gave them my new bank details and they said they would deduct the payment due of £280 (interest and some capital) and waive the £89 fee they had applied to the account due to the reasons I had given for "late" payment (late payment being after 9am on the due date!). This all took place and the date of repayment. When I looged on to my bank account I found out they had deducted £780 plus £89. I am still waiting for them to call me back concerning this and unfortunately, the bank cannot stop the payment as I gave them my card details. The only alternative now is to open up a dispute. I am hoping they will do the decent thing and sort this out and if they do I will update my review!

I've had a few loans with these guys and found them to be very reasonable. Yes, if you default on payment then they're going to call you and your work to find out why you haven't kept to your word. That's the nature of payday lending! Communicate with them and you'll find a family run firm who do listen and work with you.

i took out a £100 loan with them and on my PDD, my card was blocked which has never happened before !called my bank and found out that i had attempted purchases on my card, not authorised by myself, anyway card was cancelled and due to get replaced. After an initial email and call from David, i asked if icould pay by transfer with online banking so i could avoid the charges, i agreed that i would do this at 2pm which i did but because it wasnt in there account straight away they harrased me in total on my mobile alone, i had 50 calls , numerous threatning texts saying they will call my boss and tell them unless its resolved and numerous calls on my work extension , just harrassing me i had to send screen shots to prove i had paid them. i had all intention to apy which i did ont the agreed date anyway. i am not letting the matter go i am absolutley disgusted!!!

I took out a loan with these people, they tried to take the whole amount from my account a day earlier than agreed resulting in my bank card being stopped and then took the full amount instead of the rollover amount as soon as they could. Sent them loads of emails and voicemails and when finally managed to get through to them the chap took a call on his mobile and cut me off. Don't touch them with a bargepole!

Great company! Got £200 loan with these guys money was in my account with 3 hours. Very nice chap there called David who was a delight to deal with and helped me as I am new to payday loans. Not best on price but customer service was excellent, not sure why the others on here have had problems.

Total scam company applied for a loan with another company and was directed to this company, they declined me a loan and have charged me £3. 50 registration fee, it is in the small print but was only made aware when the money dissapeared out of my account i have sent them emails asking about this fee and that i want to be refunded as they couldnt even offer me a loan and they have been so rude over emails and now saying they want no more communication via email always check the small print when putting your details into these loan companies, i would never recommend microlenduk to anyone i know scam scam scam scam do not use!!!!!!

Avoid this company at all costs !!!!!!!!!!! i had a small loan with them, then i had a hiccup with my bank and they agreed to give me a couple of days to resolve the matter but asked for my debit card and advised needed to test it for £1. 00. They did test it for £1. 00 and then immediately took £183. 00 !!! i have been unable to reach them and feel totally conned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Very expensive, they don't get back in touch with you & they also charge a non-refundable £3.50 which they don't mention in the charges but the small print. Would not recommend.

I applied for a loan with them last week and was declined but then three days later they have taken £3.50 from my bank account!! I have only just found out sadly that it says it RIGHT AT THE VERY BOTTOM of your terms and conditions. However I believe this to be completely unacceptable practice and nothing short of daylight robbery. Why did they send me an email declining me on the 12th June and then take £3.50 from me on the 15th June? Other payday companies charge 1p only so how do they justify £3.50?

I have been doing business with them for about a year and I have never had any problems with them and in fact they have now offered me a way to pay off the original amount of £200 so I don't keep incurring high interest charges every month and the loan will be cleared in full in a few months. The guy who I speak to on the phone is very nice. I recommend them.
