Payday Express
Good:
The money can be transferred into your account today
Bad:
You can only apply if you are earning a minimum of £750 per month
Verdict:
Avoid this company, if you miss a repayment they are known for attempting to take payments constantly, leaving you overdrawn with extra charges - only use this company if you know you can repay the money on the date agreed
Payday Express is a payday company offering between £80 and £400 for new customers and between £80 and £800 for existing customers who have fully repaid a loan with them previously. This loan is to be repaid on your next payday. If you make repayments late or if you miss repayments, you will have large charges added onto your loan.
To apply with Payday Express, you need to complete their onilne application form. They will give you a provisional decision for the loan instantly. If you are declined, they will tell you straight away. If you are approved, they will contact you to inform you of their decision - they may also ask you to send in any extra documents. Once all of this has been reviewed, you can sign your Credit Agreement electronically and the funds will be transferred to you on the same working day (as long as the credit agreement was signed before 5pm).
They have been known to be very inflexible if you are struggling to make your repayments. They may be inflexible in reducing your payments and have been known for taking excess money from your account. Do not apply for this loan unless you are completely certain you can repay it back on your next payday. Otherwise, huge charges will be added onto your loan and also it will severely damage your credit rating.
Please be aware that Payday Express acts as a lender but also acts as an affiliate. This means that when you complete your application form, they will tell you if they are able to offer you a loan. If they aren't, they may recommend another company to you (most likely The Money Shop). Do not feel as if you have to apply with the suggested company as this may further impact your credit file.
Well I've had a terrible experience with payday express! I took out a loan with them late last year and had agreed with them to take a set amount out of my account each month as I was struggling a bit financially. This month they decided to take 6 installments from my account over the space of 2 days, without my permission, to the sum of £350 leaving me with no money for the rest of the month, and unable to pay my other bills, rent, phone bill etc. Not a very happy customer, I called the number on the website and after being told the department I would need to speak to had gone home I asked to speak to the manager, who after telling me there was nothing to do, I was very upset at this point and had started to cry, he asked me not to cry, I then heard laughter in the background, realising I wasn't getting anywhere with him, I advised him he may need training in customer service, that I would be seeking legal advice and that I would be writing to the Director of the company as well as making sure others know what had happened to me. Rest assured I will not stop until they compensate me for the state they have left me in...I will NEVER be using payday express again, and I suggest you don't unless you are 100% sure that you can repay the money, and of course if my experience hasn't put you off!!
Horrendous loan sharks, all payday loans not just these people. Got into slight difficulty paying one off, got phone calls every single day, home work and mobile. Should be banned.
Total waste of space do not know how these COWBOYS get away with what they do ... Fair enough you take out a loan you owe them money which is what you sign for at end of day but total nightmare if anything was to happen. My story .... I have had the year from hell one thing after another I had taken out a payday loan once all my savings had been used due to a death in the family and unable to help with funeral cost so me and my partner paid for funeral any ways after that my car was on blink just outside of warranty and major issue which cost over £900 repair i only had half money so decided to take out loan with these sharks. Cut a long story short i paid loan back on date due money was not taken called and called unable to get through when i got through i made payment over phone checked bank 3 days later another £400 taken from my account took weeks to get money back in mean time this was all i had so suprise suprise had to take another payday loan to cover costs until this money was through .. When money came through i paid back other payday loan company but again found myself short so i asked payday express for another loan ( STUPID ) i know but when your in such a muddle and you have no funds until end of month nothing you can do ... I then asked Payday express if they would refer my loan until the month after until i got back on my feet £90 later and loan set for the month after. ... Then i was laid off work !!! I could of died my life seemed to go from up to down in 3-4 month. I called Payday Express to advise that i have no income and asked if i could pay £200 now and the rest on a payment plan. The guy at Payday Express was a total idiot speaking down to me saying i took the loan i signed terms etc etc i only asked if i could clear half balance and set up payment plan !!!! Payday Express would not help me in any way possible i have never been in debt and had such a ruff financial year that i was hit among with other people who go for these loans. DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU CAN PAY BACK EVERY SINGLE PENNY WHEN ITS DUE .. If i was reading this i would say well come on its only £400 you took the loan .. Things change day to day life changes from day to day ... What ever happened to helping people all these guys care about is getting there money and added on loads of intrest... END OF MY STORY ... £200 paid of loan balance now over £400 due to intrest and late fees ... PLEASE PLEASE THINK ABOUT PAYDAY LOANS THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS !!!
Things change with the way the world is at present. Taken a 300 loan out for car repair as mot fail. Due to pay them back 2 weeks before hand terrible accident at work in hospital for over 1 week called when back out of hospital and advised I would be unable to work for at least 3 - 4 weeks and asked if I could set up payment plan as advised I would only have sick pay which is not very good ! Anyways the woman asked me to send an email which I did email back to say I am unable to set up a payment plan and payment would be due this week ! I made sure no money was in my account but they still tried still not back at work 3 month later due to operation and health issues no help what's so ever pde expect you to pay them on your death bed they do not care about there customers just there money ! Other creditors have been great giving me 1 month break and a reduced payment after that until am back on my feet as my doctor has written proof to say I am unable to work !!! This is no fault of my own things happen to people esp in this climate wish there's sharks would understand !!!! DO NOT USE unless you have a crystal ball and can see what lies ahead of you in months to come !!!!
Used these people after they continuously threw options my way to borrow more money. Since having my working hours reduced I have fell deeper into an economic catastrophy forcing me into the position of not being able to pay them. I have offered a payment plan to which I get no response. Basically if you are in trouble DO NOT EVEN USE COMPANIES LIKE THESE, if you cant afford it dont do it basically. See they offer you a 100£ loan then charge you to have the money the same day which I think costs £25 - £30 - you borrow £100 then pay this amount and you are repaying £150.00 so you have actually borrowed £75.00 and repaying £150.00... 100% payback from the money they pay out - see the banks stop lending to the people but they lend to these SHARKS because they know the economy is messed up as the banks actually create the problems we face. More people going into insolvency ......... can no one see that the whole economic structure is being raped by parliament, banks and then you got these people that are terrible DO NOT USE DO NOT USE find an alternative solution NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE....have a good day
appear to be a fair payday company with good customer service used them twice no complaints
This company are essentially online loan sharks. Speed of payment is not in itself a "good" trait for a company. There customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They have ravaged my account for extension fees and late payment charges, when I contacted them, I was told "It's not our fault you're in debt." Furthermore they send incessant text messages, and make superfluous phone calls up to ten times a day demanding money, and threatening to forward my details to a debt recovery agency. This is follows a refusal of a payment plan, and an arrangement to pay the installment 10 days after was agreed. Lo' and behold an hour later I received yet another call demanding money. A This company is only worth five stars for it's sheer persistence in harassing it's customers. They are a malicious, black-hearted, wicked company. A company that even down to their lowly telephone operators i believe revel in the sheer misery they cause people.
Having took a loan with this company the company I worked for went out of business just before Xmas and went without paying staff wages and expenses. I begged and pleaded with Payday Express to not take their payment as we only had my wifes Disability Living Allowance coming in. I was told to email them, which I did there and then. They replied over a week later basicly saying the criteria to enter a payment plan would be (a-I was dead) (b-terminally ill) (c-redundant) (d-Severely or mentally ill). I had to send them two months bank statements to show I had no income, meanwhile while awaiting ther decision and to my horror, (and I believe they used the bank statements to their benefit by being able to see what day every month my wifes DLA money went into the account) they actually used the debit card details I had given them when I took out the loan, waited for the the next Disability Living Allowance payment to reach our account and then within 10 minutes of that payment arriving, Payday Express lifted the lot. I was sick to the stomach, this company is the lowest of the low, not to mention the fact that they call every two hours and text every two hours to harrass you into paying... even when you have responded to them and spoke to them and emailed them the calls and texts still keep coming, they make you feel like you're being hunted down for the kill. This company's ethics border on sordid.
i borrowed from pde,due to a change in financial situation there where not helpfull i offered to pay weekly but they where not interested.do not use them it will cost you alot more in the end.
absouletly awful payday express called me asking for me to confirm my date of birth and othere personal details and i refused as they were calling on an unknown number and i could have been passing my details to anyone when i said this the women was very rude she said " well you will keep receiving these phone calls then its your fault goodbye" and hung up do not use payday express!!
I am going to file a harassment complaint against payday express, they have not stopped calling or texting even though I offered a token payment which they rejected and know that I am undergoing an IVA. I cannot wait until it is put in motion so that I can never here from them again. Do not take a loan with this company, they are the bad guys.
I have been a customer for a couple of years now and had no problems with Payday Express. They have always been polite and kept their word and done what they have said they were going to do. Email and Text Reminders are very helpful and useful to help remind one of the borrowings that are current. Much better than Wonga. My only gripe is that they charge interest and won't give a reduction if you roll it over, even if you have paid some off.
Okay so i took out an inital Payday loan of £200 from Payday Express, at the time of the loan i was working full time on a decent wage, however 15 days later i was layed off... With other debts that needed paying and only getting £90.00 every 2 weeks from JSA, i was in no posistion to pay off payday express right away, i explained this to a "coustomer service" advisor at P.D.E, they informed me my "EXCUSSE" was not good enough and they will require full payment right away (i was still 10 days from the due date?) - Anyway i haven't paid them to date, now i know they have every right to send me emails, letters and so forth, however to be hounded at FIVE times a day with phone calls which start at 7.30am lasting till 10.00pm, waking up to at least TEN text messages and emails is just plain harassment. Even worse still when i answer the phone to them, i explain my posistion and they say okay thats fine but you need to pay us soon, about 30 minutes later they will ring my house phone and ask the same silly questions - When i brought them up about this they simply say you owe us so we will pester you until we get payment. I advise anyone with a bit off sense to try other Payday Lenders - P.D.E are by far the worst, they are bullys and bullys don't deserve coustome.
dontknow about the harrassment and such, but not being able to pay back early for a lesser cost is a joke. would not use again
I have always found pay day express very good and helpful, they allowed me to defer my loan for another month and always put the money in my account and take it when they say they will, Always helpful and lovely to speak to. Would def use again if needed.
I have used payday express and found them to be quick in transfering the money and they also let me hold over for two months. no problem at all and wuld recommend them
if you're ever in need of a payday loan, feel free to use payday express if you want to be harassed. A complete bunch of cowboys who have no idea of how to run a loan company. My experience is fairly similar, although I managed to speak to a "manager", some numpty called Paul St Ledger who promised 3 times to call back - didn't do so. I wrote into complain, was ignored. E-mailed 3 times, ignored. I'm in the process of raising this to the Ombudsman, who I understand will charge PDEXP £500.00 for the courtesy of investigating their misconduct. Whilst I don't expect anything back from these cowboys, I hope posting on here will help customers decide to go elsewhere.
I lost my job and couldn't pay for a while. I was bombarded with phone calls from them, about 24 calls per week. Some of the calls were quite threatening so beware
I borrowed £320 from Payday Express for 30 days. Total repayment cost £400. After 10 days due to a change of circumstances I was in a position to pay the loan back early. The expected repayment being £320 plus 10 days interest about £30 total £350. Payday Express charged me the full amount of £400. No refund of interest charges due!. I made 2 telephone calls to complain and found the staff rude and unhelpful. I asked for a supervisor/manager to call me back, nobody has and 2 emails were ignored. Do not use this company at all as I feel they are little more than loan sharks and have no regard for customer service. You have been warned do not use Payday Express even if you are desperate!.
What can I say fisrt time I used this company and nothing but problems! I borrowed £450 and the following month asked to forward £300 and pay £150, so the woman I spoke to said that would cost me £210 and that it would be taken from my account that week. In fact they actually took £330! when I phoned to say an error had been made they acknowledge but refunds are made by their accounts dept based over the road who have and I quote 'thousands of refunds to process' - obviously I am not the only one who has had more taken than was agreed. They put the money in straight away but getting them to refund is a joke. I have committed to other payments this week based on them taking £210 now I am in real trouble as I cannot pay the other people that I owe. I express this and asked Payday express to chase up their accounts dept as it was their error but they were not bothered. I wont be using this lot again they obviously are a bunch of morons.
BE AWARE My daughter got a payday loan from Payday Express on 30 June for £150 and the agreement was they would collect £200 back on her payday July 15. They failed to take the money out of the bank and so added on £40 as an 'Extension Fee' which they took straight from her account on July 15. My daughter was unaware the £200 had not been recovered until she got a letter on Aug 20 telling her another extension fee had been taken and she still owed the initial £200. She phoned them and refused to pay the full amount and it was eventually settled at £160 thus they got an extra £40 over the initial agreement. When she investigated with her bank the bank informed her they had attempted to take the £200 from her bank at 2am on the morning her wages went in however her wages didn't go in until 4am on the same day. At 6.30 am Payday Express came back and took the £40 fee from her account but made no attempt to take the £200 when they would have been successful. This to me seems a deliberate attempt to gain an additional £40 from a unsuspecting punter.
