Pounds Till Payday
Good:
They send you a reminder two days before your repayment is due
Bad:
Customer service is hard to contact (based in Malta)
Verdict:
If you apply, get accepted, get your money, pay the loan back on time, this company is recommended - if you make them late or do not make repayments at all, you will have very large fees added to your loan
Pounds Till Payday can offer loans from £100 - £200 for new customers until payday. They will lend up to £1,000 if you have taken out previous loans and shown you can pay it back on time. They charge £29.98 for every £100 borrowed, which is average compared to other payday lenders.
You can apply online or over the phone with Pounds Till Payday. To apply online, you will need to complete the application form on their website. Once completed, you will be given a number which you have to call to speak to a customer representative to answer some final questions. If provisionally accepted, they will then send you a credit agreement to sign. Once the documents and credit check have been approved, they will transfer the money to your account within 2 working days.
There is a lot of bad press about this company stating that they will threaten to contact your employer if you do not make your payments on time. Do not take this lightly and do not give them your employer's contact number if you can help it. They operate from a Malta address and their 'operatives' are based in Canada or Ireland so if you try to contact them it will cost you a bit. They are well-known for making harassing phone calls if you do not make payments on time. On the other hand, a lot of customers have been happy with this company stating that they are supportive and pay the money out quickly.
Only problem can be that it takes days for a loan re-payment to be acknowledged and the same again if you need to re-loan. Not ideal if your budget is tight ( which it will be if you're having to use this type of finance) but otherwise they're pretty tolerant even if you cannot make the full payment on occaison - suspect that if you query the actaul costs involved in respect of the £59.00 fee they might well reduce this but, if remember that this is what you signed up for and read the small print
Never had any problems and they've always been pretty good whenever I've needed to apply for an extension when paying back the loan.
Pounds Till Payday can be contacted on the freephone number 08000 327 655 which will not cost anything if the call is made from a UK landline. Their helpful staff will be happy to address any queries or concerns you may have.
Hi Everyone I have noticed some negative comments regarding repayment of loans to pounds till pay day. There has been many occasions when my loan was not paid on time but I was never charged the £59 default fees, I would call pounds till pay day explain my situation why payment was late and they were very understanding, very helpful as long as I paid the loan there was not a problem and pounds till pay day allowed me reloan.I have been doing for a while and I find the staff very helpful and polite as long as you are polite with the staff they are able to help without further complications. I have been borrowing money from pounds till pay day for over three years and I am happy with their service.
IF THEY CALL WORK, TELL THEM NOT TO, IF THEY DO AGAIN, ASK TO MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT, THEY DO IT AGAIN, FSA. SIMPLE AS.
Very good company to have to support you
I WILL USE THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN IF I NEED TO..
This lot operate from a Malta address and their 'operatives' are based either in Canada or Ireland, you won't get any joy out of them - they love harrassing phone calls and will go out of their way to increase the amount you owe by £69 per email given the chance... get shot of them ASAP.
Hi everyone, I wonder if someone can help I foolishly took out a loan with pounds till Payday and due to some fiancial problems I was unable to repay the direct debit so I cancelled it because I didn't want to get charged by my bank. They placed interest on it which I can understand but the problem I am having is with one of their 'so called' customer service people called Eionne Dunne who has called me at my place of work and my home and mobile demanding the money in full. I asked him not to phone at work which he said he would not and then he leaves messages. He called today and demanded a 'token payment' of £75.00 as he said he will not be able to hold it until the end of the month. I told if he has to send it to debt collection then do it. He wasn't a happy bunny when I said I didn't have any moeny to give him. Then he said he will call again next week just to see if the situation has changed I told him it wouldn't but I am worried that he might call my place of work again.Any help would be great as he was not very nice on the phone.

I took the loan as a first time borrower form this company and was a bit put out to find that I could only borrow £200 as I have not borrowed from them before- even though I have a great credit history with other loans and various bits of finance I have gone for before. The interest is pretty high. The money was in my account very quickly though and cant complain about the service. Overall a thumbs up, despite the interest.
I made the unfortunate mistake in taking a loan with pounds till payday. just before Christmas I lost my job. I emailed pounds till payday to see if I can come to some arrangement. They told my they want their money and if I don't pay by a certain date they will be coming to my home or work to collect the money. They are not the friendly helpful company they make out to be.
