QuickQuid
Good:
Same-day payouts and they offer more money than other payday lenders
Bad:
You may be bombarded by calls and texts if they have your details
Verdict:
They may tell you that you are approved provisionally at first but may decline you after a credit check - if you do get accepted, the service is quick and easy and they are one of the cheaper payday lenders on the market
QuickQuid can lend you between £50 and £1,000 if you are a new customer. Once you prove you can pay these amounts back without any problems, they will lend you up to £1,500. The loan is to be repaid on your next payday but if you wish to roll-over the loan to the following payday, you must pay the interest for that month.
You can apply online or over the phone with QuickQuid. To apply, you need to complete their online application form. When it's completed, they will give you a provisional decision. They don't usually ask for documentation but you may need to if your application is referred. The amount you pay back will be determined at application stage as there are three tiers you could fall into. What tier you are put in will depend on your previous credit history, your employment history and your loan repayment history. They will perform a credit check on you. Once finally approved, they will contact you to inform you. The money should be in your account on the same day if the application is finished by 10pm. If not, it will be paid the following working day.
Excellent Tier - charged £20 per £100 borrowed
Good Tier - charged £25 per £100 borrowed
Average Tier - £29.50 per £100 borrowed
Your credit history will determine what tier QuickQuid put you in. Flexible repayment options are available where you can roll the loan over to the next month if you are going to struggle making the full payment. A finance charge will be applicable but will be no more than £15. The customer reviews on the web on the whole are good though they are known to send a lot of emails, texts, etc. If you don't want any of that than make sure you can opt out of it. Also, they have been known to take extra payments from your debit card not on the dates agreed, leaving people over drawn and without any money. Ensure that you know exactly when money is going to be taken out of your account and ensure that there is sufficient money in your account that day.
[Text edited by Research team] This lender of last resort should be amde illegal - this is nothing short of loan sharking run by a bunch of venture capitalsit gangster who's ONLY purpsose is to make themselves even richer on our financial misfortune caught up in and an economy rapidly going down the drain - resist the temptation toborrow from these gangsters if at all possible!
after ringing them up pointing out the weather that day was terriable and i wasnt well, could they overlook it .they replied no.
not quick at all, website advertises instant decisions and money in 10 minutes and after applying provide you with online contract to sign but then send e mails stating unable to give accurate time for processing and may need further information
try and stick to borrowing a week before payday. found quickest and the cheapest to use. stay clear of wonga
Waste of time
I am about to give you my full honest opinion about Quickquid, after reading some of the other reviews I think it is unfair to blame Quickquid for loosing your card or anything out of their control. I took out a loan for £250 a month ago, initially they quoted me approx £60 interest, which I know is a little higher than a few other companies. I have used and dislike wonga.com, for many of reasons. They don't have an easy to contact support team and when you do get in contact, they don't seem to want to help, rather they want to get as much interest out of you. I decided to ring up QuickQuid just to make sure the company was legit, I got through quickly and spoke to a lady on the phone, after some persuasion I decided to take out the loan, for some reason, she decided to give me a 50% discount off the interest., my suspicions were brewing... So after about 2 hours of waiting on a sunday evening, the money finally popped into my account, for a sunday, I thought this was pretty good as I needed the money for the morning. Cut a long story short, I was unable to pay back all the money in one go, again I spoke to someone on the livechat which is flipping amazing that they are open 24/7, I challenge anyone to find Wongas telephone number! Its a 0844 number as well. They organised for me to pay back over a 3 month period and I am due my final payment next week, but they were very good that they did not add any extra charges, as well as the fact that this does not affect my credit report. I am very impressed with the company and for once, I actually felt obliged to write a review. I know from my own experience how many joke companies their are, a few of them were simply data thieves and I am still getting spam mail from them till this day, plus text messages at 3 in the morning. I highly rate this company and if you dont mind spending a bit more interest for an honest service and good customer support, I would say Quickquid is the one.
Always been quick to pay out for me, and on the occasion my card was cancelled so they could not take a payment, I called them in advance and gave me a 1week extension free of charge! Not too bad, but the interest is very high, stick to smaller amounts, as all that happens is you need to constantly borrow to replace the wages you lost paying them!
Fantastic if you ask me I've had 4 now with them and they have done What it says on the tin last loan was paid into my account after 23 mins Of applying what more can I say will set use again
Twice I have got a loan from quickquid and both times it has taken up to 6 hours to be credited to me, it was not a problem with the bank. Phoned them (quickquid) they said it's in progress, keep checking your bank account. That was 1st time, got an email to say sorry it took so long, the next time I used quick quid it took ages again, about 4 hours I think. It's pretty lame how they call themselves quick quid cos they're not. Wonga is much better, only use these when we are desperate, the fees are quite bad as well I think compared to some others. Payday UK is actually quite good and providing you apply and get accepted on a week day and your bank supports faster bacs payments you will have the money at then end of the 'business day' (about 5.30pm) It cost me £313 to borrow £250 for about 6 weeks, that's reasonable I guess.
I borrowed £80 from PaydayUK (MEM Consumer Finance) the money cleared the next day even though I got informed that I would have it within an hour! That's besides my point just before I was due to pay them back I decided I could do with extending the loan for another month which I got told I am allowed to do! But when I spoke to them, the lady on the line said I am welcome to do this but I will have to pay the £100 this Payday and then repay £200 the following Payday? I know confusing right? Because if I could pay the £100 why would I need to extend it? And how does it make sense for me to just have to pay £200 the following month? Plus that amount of interest on £80 is surely illegal?? So I told the woman not to bother and I decided I'd pay it back but just take out another loan the next day or something! But my plan didn't work out so easily! I lost my card the day before I got paid! So I had to cancel it! In result PaydayUK couldn't get their money! They rang me but I missed the call, so I rang them back and the guy I spoke to told me he can't find any record of my loan! I thought this was weird but my break was over so I couldn't try again! I then got a call at work but I am not allowed to take personal calls at work, as I work in a shop and I can't stand around on the phone when there is customers that need to be served so my supervisor told them this! They asked to speak to a manager, so they got transferred to HR! And the guy told my HR lady all my personal business, he told her why they are calling, what my dealings were with them, how much I owed, and that I missed my payment, also when I borrowed the money and when it was due! This is embarrassing for me, as I don't want the people I work for to know I had to get a Payday loan, and everything about it! Well why the hell would I? They also told my mother and my boyfriend all these details too! Soo outrageous! I have now found out this is illegal! As it is in breach of the data protection act (1998) as they used my personal information in a manner that caused harm or distress! And it is set out in the data protection act that they are not allowed to disclose any personal information about me without sending me written warning beforehand in which I am allowed time to give them reasons why they shouldn't! But even so they are not allowed to give it out to just anyone! Only third partys like people who offer services to them such as debt collection agencies! Police and courts are exempt from this!So what they did to me is completely and utterly illegal! And they can be fined up to 500000k for it! And it makes the contract in effect VOID! And even if it states on the contract they can discuss it with your employers or family and friends, it is an unfair term of the contract which cannot legally be practiced, and by having the term on the contract in the first place makes the contract VOID! This is set out under the unfair contract terms act 1997! I have been advised of this information by a qualified and professional still practising solicitor! Cash Genie- they did exactly the same thing as Payday UK! I thought I'd tell you they've done the same thing aswell just to warn you because it brings embarrassment to you when they call your boss or your parents! and tell them your business! THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO IT! SO DONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!!
Service Fast money was in my account in less than an hour. Interest rate phenomenal as you would expect however my concern with the company is the way that they take the repayment. At the agreed date the money I owed was deducted from my debit card as I could see that the money had been taken from my bank account, only for me to long on to my bank the next day and find that the money had been credit again to my account. I called Quickquid to see if they had been in receipt of my payment and was informed "yes mam your account if fully up to date and you loan is now settled". I then contacted my bank to see where this money could have come from. At first they couldn’t explain it and where advising that this money was the actual funds that I had available, I asked if they can look into this further as much as I would have loved to have this money I was 100% certain this was not mine. The bank then told me that the money had been put into a holding account as the funds hadn’t been claimed (by Quickquid) with 24 hrs of me making the transaction, I was then informed that this could it in the account for up to 6mths. I resisted the temptation of dipping into this money and needless to say that one week later the money was taken by Quickquid. So everyone please beware dont be fooled that you have cleared your loan and spend your money as you will be hammered with the ridiculous charges. I have since spoken to someone else who this happen to however they had been so excited that the extra cash was available that they spent it and didn’t have enough to make the Quickquid payment when it was eventually deducted. She had late payment fee and interest daily and also now a late payment against her on the credit file!!!
I had a phone bill which was unpaid by accident, it was set up with a direct debit. I used an automated service to pay my bill early but for some reason it didnt go through... to cut a long story short because I didn't realize this I received a letter in the post from my network provider informing me that my bill was going to be passed on to a debt collector if I did not pay it in the next couple of days. I was online searching for various options and quik quids website was one of the many I looked at. I decided to look else where for a better rate of interest.. While looking at another site, I received a call from Quik quid.. So by this stage I was thinking WTF? Are they that eager to lend out loans... I was thinking that I would get quoted something ridiculous but thought I would stay on the line to see what it was.. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and honest... she said that they would give me a 50% discount... which actually made the loan Quik quid offered me the cheapest that I had found. I paid 14.75% interest (by keeping within the agreement..) and paid it back 8 days later.. i was even given the option to pay it 35 days later than that if I needed to. I took the loan and it was deposited into my account within 1.5 hours. The customer service was excellent and I didn't mind being phoned up in the end, I know that these companies are just out to make money.. but as quik quid gave me the best quote and great customer service, I would actually recommend them which is not something I thought I would do at first. HOWEVER!!! I'm the kind of person who would only recommend someone something like a loan if I knew they would pay it back.. and understand what they were doing.. I used this wisely as a short term load and it helped me out... I think that 90% of people who have problems with any of these companies tend to bring a lot of it on them selves..
Borrowed from Quickquid about 5 months ago and they let you defer the loan for 6 months. Do not ad extras like Wonga (who I would nt recommend) and their rates for deferring are very reasonable. Money was in the bank the quickest of them all. Would definately recommend.
I borrowed £200 for about 8 days i think, the contract stated on the 31st of august i would ow them £244, which was fine, and i went ahead. Checked my bank yesterday morning, there was £1800 in there (Payday) Wonga had taken what i owed them and nothing from quickquid, so i went online to see i i could manually ask them to take the money, you cant (you can on wonga though) you have to either ring up or talk to there Live Chat service, which i did, i asked them to take the money, The lady said there was an attempt to take the money in progress and it should be taken within the next hour or so, i thought great both paid off now, only to find this morning, an email saying i was overdue :/ I rang them up to ask why the money wasn't taken yesterday (while checking my online banking, the money was taken out at 12:56 and then put back into my account at 1:36, 40 minutes later) they said they dont know why it failed given my bank balance at the time and all they could do was retry the payment to day and incur a £12 penalty for doing so! I payed it, as i didn't want to end up in heaps of debt because it was overdue (while i went through fight the cause) but in short, i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole! The people on the phone are RUDE american teenagers that speak with slang and horrible attitudes. So from now on in Wonga all the way for me! Perfect every time! and they dont add money on because their system is incompetent
A load of **** pay 50 pound for nothing
totally useless! applied last night for £50 just for 10 days and still waiting approval 24 hours later so the 30 min approval time is a ploy to reel you in! after phoning them to see why was taking so long and have to say i was not rude just expressing my concern but the customer service woman certainly was rude and abrubt and told me to just be paitent!!
I changed my bank account whilst I stil had a loan due to be repaid, it was extended successfully, the next day, I rang and informed them I was changing bank accounts and wanted to set up new dd on my new account, advisor told me didnt need direct debit as I now had a debit card and they would use that, so i said , is it oK to close old dd. The payment never came out, but because debit cards take a few days to process , I didnt see it come out,,, next thing I know they say Im in default, and retracted that month's loan extension without telling me ..I was furious, I had done everything in a timely manner and had not refused to pay,,, I was rudely told that they could not take the payment from my old account so I was in default, I said I had rang to change details and at no time was I told you couldnt swap where payments came from ,,, I am mild mannered and have worked in finance previously, I was literally breaking down on the phone , teary and exhausted by their attitude towards me and the situation. They were vile,I couldn't get through to them the point that I had set everything up in good faith and at no time was I told the extension had been retracted, or that the advisor who took my original change of bank had said anything about this not being acceptable,,, they said they wouldn't have advised me that you couldn't change , because the details for repayment are not allowed to change ???? so there was no need to state it????? I then said how can I repay the loan from the original source if this is the only way to pay it, when it is closed....oh we can take payment from your card if you're in default... Go figure... I insisted that the payment for the orignal extension be taken from my card as this is what I expected to have paid several days earlier...but he still said I was in the wrong and would not reinstate extension , left the account in default but pronounced he would not charge me any extra as if he was doing me a favour\\\\\\!!! which in point of fact is the same situation I would have been in if everything had gone to plan... I am mortified I now appear in default for no fault of my own. AND he hasn't taken the card payment 2 weeks later... what the H is going on... I have never been treated in such a disgusting way in my life, and pointed out that they should not allow any of their advisors to serve customers if they cannot fully advise on their products and send out emails of significant importance ie weve revoked your extension...I will never go to this company AGAIN!
I was really desperate for cash and a friend recommended them to me. The process was so quick and efficient via online chat. I recommend them to any one looking for quick cash.
Quickquid is really not worth it, a utter rip off, I tried to get this loan and I was charged even though I did not receive the loan. I have tried a few different loan companies when I have needed cash fast and I can honestly say none of them have given me as much satisfaction as Wonga.com, I have read bad experiences about wonga but they are usually from people who get a loan from them and then do not want to pay it back, so in all fairness its their own fault! Since I was introduced to wonga I have had no reason to go elsewhere and look for somewhere else because they are perfect. I have had about 5 wongas already and I have never been let down. If you apply for wonga (and if I was you I would rather than Quickquid) use the following promo code and you will get £5.50 taken off your balance. The code is: hlk191 It works! I used it too :) Happy Loaning! lol
i think QuickQuid needs two get 5 stars they are fast and easy
Quick Quid told me over the phone and via their website that my application was approved and would be be paid that day. However, I got loads of email saying it was still was awaiting approval. I called them back and they said it was approved but still no payment. I cancelled the loan eventually.
I cancelled my loan with Quick Quid and now I'm suffering with constant phone calls from them. I was bombarded by 13 phone calls in one day! I eventually had to call them and asked to removed from their marketing.
I have taken a few short term loans out with quick quid now and I have to say, they do what they say on the can. These loans are a great way to get anybody out of a short term pickle, especially for people like me, who refuse to have a credit card.
I needed a quick fix, and they supplied it. There are no secrets, the interest rate is extraordinary! However, it's not meant to be a long term loan. If you use it as an interim measure, and payback within a few months, it doesn't cost that much. I had problems with my direct debit and they were really helpful.
