Toothfairy Finance
Good:
Money in your account within minutes
Bad:
Verdict:
This company is one of the cheapest but has a bad reputation - only apply if it is your last resort and make sure you are able to repay the loan on the agreed date
Toothfairy Finance are a microcredit lender who offer small amounts of money - either £100, £200, £300 or £400. You can borrow this money over 14 days or 28 days, but if you don't pay the money back when it is due, huge charges can be added onto your loan.
You can apply online via their four-step application form. They will ask you your bank details, address details and employment details. Please ensure you enter a correct mobile phone number as they will send you a 4-digit PIN to enter on the last stage of the application form. If you are accepted, you will be able to electronically sign your loan agreement on their website. Once they have fully reviewed your application, your current circumstance and your signed loan agreement, they will accept your loan. The money will then be transferred into your account within a few minutes.
If you are a return customer, you can apply via text message. All you need to do is text the world LOAN followed by your surname to 82055. Then, reply to their message with the amount you need e.g. LOAN 300. They will then confirm the transfer and the money will be in your account.
Toothfairy Finance are one of the cheapest options available on the payday market because you only pay £9 per week for every £100 you borrow, but ensure that you pay this back on the date agreed as they have an extensive list of extra charges (see below).
I'm not gonna say too much just STAY AWAY from them! before u do anything u will owe them thousands!!
I would like to describe myself as a pay-day loan expert. I’ve dealt with around 6 pay-day loan companies’ up-to date, Since my salary comes In, on a rather complicated manner. And from experience of pay-day loans I can say that these ‘tooth fairy finance’ ppl are the most customer unfriendly and disgraceful of them all. I took out a loan about 2 months ago, so every other 2 weeks I paid just their extension fee as you can do that….. anyway I finally decided to pay them the whole sum and get it over with. So when I rung up, and asked to do that, because it wouldn’t let me do It online as they claim it would. The woman goes and tells me I am 6 weeks overdue and need to pay another £360, on top of my loan of 280, of which I have been paying the extension fees for. As soon as she said that I started laughing in disbelieve. She consistently tried to agitate me by saying they will send agents at the address provided and blah blah blah!!!! So after all that, they sent me an email saying that I have agreed to a monthly payment plan and that I need to pay £260, the next day!!!!! Fortunately for me, am leaving the country for good and moving to Africa. For a long long time as my visa is expiring soon! But I plan to get this sorted before I leave…. Making a long story short these ppl are liars and claim to be something that they are not. And all the requirement is rubbish, as long as you apply and sign the agreement they will give you the money problem is they will make your life miserable after that!!!!! So for anyone tryin to get a payday loan… simply avoid them please!!! Use any other pay day loan providers….. for all the ppl that are suffering because of this lot…
Tel them to take you to court theres no court in the uk that would make you pay what they say also they can't get any bailiff's there full of crap. When are bailiffs used? Bailiffs can be instructed to seize goods for payment of debts from your home if you fail to pay your creditors when it's with the court (such as through a County Court Judgement or CCJ): they can also be used to repossess your home or to enforce certain arrest warrants. In this section, we’re focusing on the role of a bailiff who seizes goods for Council Tax arrears, Child Support arrears, county or High Court debts, National Insurance, VAT and tax debts. Before any action is taken, bailiffs receive instruction by a warrant which specifies how much is owed. And thats only after you don't pay a CCJ from the court Tooth fairy are nothing but theives please everyone report these people to trading standards.
DONT USE THEM..... I took out a loan which i thought i could repay in 1-3 months this is what was advertised on the website then the loan came up which i agreed to only to find out that it was with Tooth Fairy Finance. I have contacted them so many times to try and sort out a payment plan as cannot afford the 2 weeks. They are threatening me with baliffs, court action and are very very unpleasant on the phone. What can i do??? They are not interested in any plan and just threaten me with actions and increase interest charges. Please can anyone offer me advice please...........
On 5 April 2012, I completed an on-line application. I only wanted to borrow £150 but it kept giving me an option to borrow £200. I didn't need £200 so decided to go to another site. Since 5 April 2012, I receive 15 emails, 15 texts and 15 recorded messages everyday telling me my loan has been approved and to complete my application on-line. I'm going mad! I've tried to email them to stop. Can someone let me know how I can stop them from hassling me. I'm glad I didn't take out a loan with them, they would of hunted me down! Saira
This is becoming a joke now. I was browsing for a quick payday loan last week, £100 or so. Between the hours of 7am-7pm i have received around 4/5 texts per day, plus phone calls to boot. PLUS e-mails aswell!! Talk about desperation for your custom. I have e-mailed four times now asking to be taken from their dialler and systems, in my last e-mail i said about there being no staff there as it's Easter Sunday and i got a warning e-mail saying; Threatening Behaviour The tone and language of your email has been considered inappropriate and threatening to our staff. This matter is now being fast tracked for collection through the courts and potential referral to the police unless this matter is settled immediately. Please refrain from abusive behaviour from now on. Are you joking me???????????????? I'm taking this higher, they obviously think by threatening they can get away with it. Doesn't work with me lads and lasses, i'll fight you all the way. Don't use them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can I say there emails are boarder line threatening there staff are thick they also seem to know nothing about trading standards also there recorded massage states THEY DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT A REDUCED PAYMENT OR A DMP DEBT MANAGEMENT PLAN? AND THAT THEY WILL STILL CONTACT YOU????? THAT’S HARASSMENT
Despite me ordering them to take me to court they refuse - I have now moved address and as they haven't registered anything against my credit file and I have already made repaayments equating to the value of the loan so from my point of view they can take me to court or F OFF!
i had a 400 loan of these struggled to pay it back as my hours were cut in work due to climate of the country . so i entered into a plan with them to pay 100 back a month , my monthly wages went into my account of 600 and they took it all ,so i was left with nothing for the month i phoned the bank to say i didnt agree for them to take this amount and the bank give it bk now in the space of 15 days im having bailiffs letters, email from mashall horse ect saying i now owe them 2344 what a ridiculous amount ,ive phoned them to ask whythey broke our agreement can i talk to the manger the guy on the phone very rude and would not let me talk to the manger what an awful company do not go near there site you will reget it !
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! 1st instance....when I applied, loan agreed, payment took 4 DAYS to go in to my account.....I tried to cancel the loan during this time, as I only needed it for 5 days, but they would NOT let me, without incurring their ridiculous charges. Please also check their registration details on the OFT website, as they currently trade under 4 different names. I will not go into what has happened since this all started, but I have had confirmation from the Office of Fair Trading that they have received my complaint. Also the Financial Ombudsman have agreed to take over my case, as Toothfairy Finance / Northern Debt Recovery / Marshall Hoares Bailiffs (all the same company), are refusing to accept my complaint. To sum up, these "people" are RUDE, THREATENINING AND AS ABOVE "BARBARIC"
Biggest waste of time ever! 24 hours after my loan was approved still not in my account. So much for 1 minute payout! Called them up and spoke to "Jade" who said "I work in collections, its not my job so what you want me to do?" It seems these guys are just on the CON!! Stay away from them.
i fell behind on paying rang to try sort i out as my partner had left so was struggling to be a single parent the were all nicey nicey on the phone then got transferred to there bailiffs they were threatening to come round even though toothfairy continued to take agreed monies out my account then to my horror i transferred my rent the day before its due like i have done for the past 2 years and they had took the whole 400 pound which in the first place i only borrowed 350 so all together they have took 500 pound and im still getting bailiffs letters and phone calls. DO NOT USE they have made my life a mess x
i called them to let know that i will pay them back the day i was due but via a diffnrent method of payment....to my horror the rep started using thretning language and i freaked out and had to hang up...OMG...i paid them back the same day and sworn not to use them again..please guys watch out ...u better using other lenders but them.....i think the govening body must govern these barbaric people...we live in the UK in 2012 and not some third world country....its a shame...please dont use them ever..they will be fast to pay u money and faster to humiliate and harass!!!
God forbid if you happen to take a loan with them and fail to pay.. they need to get reported to FOT for the way there staff speak to people, i suffer from severe depression and anxiety and fell behind.. tried to call to get some help.. but instead was further harrassed by there collection staff...who not only threatened legal action but also branded me a fraudster...
i had £10.00 taken from my account with no explaination had a loan through a sister company nextcredit paid them back in full on date due but still received rude threatening letters they are not a copmany i would ever use again or pass onto friends
i took out a loan of over 100 and obviously couldnt afford to pay it back as i have other loans too. i am on a debt management plan due to circumstances and they keep harassing me by emails saying that they wont accept the debt management company's offer. their emails are very rude to say the least. so no one go near them there are better ones out there for sure.
i had applied for loan i found is best loan dealer in all in uk, i am really thankful to them , happy
I haven't actually taken a loan out with these guys, but they must have bought my details somewhere. In 48 hours I have had 9 emails, 12 text messages and well over 20 missed calls from them, all trying to get me to "agree" to a £200 loan with them. Everytime they call I get an automated voicemail message which in itself is annoying. Complete harassment.
struggled to pay my loan back had no end of emails texts messages all of which say i owe different amounts in some they say they will add on £150 fees on in others they say they will add on £350 and that baillifs are coming to my house. They dont care about change of circumstances or that you are willing to pay of some each week. They have been taking several amounts out my bank but changed my card details. They just prey on low income people
I applied for a loan, for about 80, waited to see if I was approved, then no news, so I rang them , and they was so so rude put phone down on me 3 times, and then all of a sudden she started to shout at me demanding money, claiming I was a mohammed something, she was quoting someone else details to me, what a joke in data protection act, I asked to speak to a manager and she slammed the phone down on me, PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE PLEASE - their are much better payday lenders out their, please
I have used Tooth fairy a few time, they have been very efficient and paid quickly, however, when I have applied for £100 either on line or via text it simply goes no further. When you apply on line for £100 it says they are not issuing £100 loans at this time please change your amount... (has said this every time I apply for only £100) when I text I get a reply saying application successful, however it stops there and no money is transferred... My view, they just want you to apply for more, of course it makes them more in the long run !!! So a mixed review from me, whilst its not a scam they are trying to scam people into applying for more money than they need....
Like many other people i have struggled to pay off my loan with them. They would not accept my payments of what i could afford turned down my debt management company and also i have been recieving emails and text messages at 4 am in the morning. This is outragous and on the 10.08.2011 i had a door visit of which a letter was left which had the wrong spelling on it and all sorts i do not know what to do now i have told them to take me to court as i have made a payment and they will not accept my payment plan and i have moved from that address. HELP !"!!!!!!
My experiance with this pay day lender has gone from bad to worse. I borrowed £200 with the idea of paying it back ASAP. I have borrowed once before off this company & I never had any issues before. However on this occasion I have struggled to repay my loan, Some may say this is my issue & they are just doing there job. BUT. I was made redundent, I had no income and no means of paying the loan off. I CALLED THEN SERVERAL TIMES. I had no help and constent "late fee charges" plus recovery fee's. My loan now amounts to three time's over the amount borrowed. I've tried explaining time and time again. They just dont listen I am at my wits end, they way the act and treat customers who are in need is disgusting. Not to mention the amount of threatening emails and calls =( PLEASE DONT TOUCH THIS COMPANY.
Took out a loan with Toothfairy and the next day decided to withdraw from the loan (as is my right under the consumer credit act). Shocked to discover that Toothfairy Finance have charged me the full amount of interest on the loan as if it had been run to maturity...in effect £72 on a £400 for one day and also in clear contradiction of the loan agreement. Borrowers beware, very difficult to get hold of anyone to discuss things with at Toothfairy Finance and my several email communications largely ignored, leaving it for me to pay the full interest and then seek compensation via Financial Ombudsman etc. Their model clearly is to hope that I give up, which I wont
i was took a 200 quids on 14 days i was repay earlier after 4 days and wish to cancel my account and aggrement the advisor was poor trained and he say that i cant cancel my acount iven if i pay off my loan. i was contact with financial ombudsman service and they help me with that. avoid as possible
Even before your payment is due, they send threatening texts, email messages and letters serving you with a default notice. Their "phoneline" 08000 882 222 does not have any humans you can talk to and you are constantly referred to their website. Absolutely shocking service, please do not use.
I applied for £100 with toothfairy finance an was contacted by a man about my application, i was really desperate for money and wasnt thinking, i can't remember everything that actualy happend but i remember speaking to them about the application, the man said he had passed my details on an i just had to phone, he explained that it would be £1.50 a minute to phone the number that he gave me so i though yeah abit much but thats ok an they made it clear i had to phone with a contract phone or landline, my orange phone wouldnt let me so i thought i will try the house phone thinking it would only be a 5 minute process! HA i dont think so! the man talk an talked so that i was on the phone for about 15 minutes! Even when he answerd he was just like hello an didnt even say who he was? :s then after that I had to wait on a phone call to get my money! Thats when i thought crap what am i doing? thats going to cost loads of money an i phoned back straight away to cancel my application an got hung up on! So i phoned again in panic and another man despite telling him i just wanted to cancel was fafing about still talking for 5 minutes e your time on a company that costs 1.50 a minute! it ended up i was passed on to cash finance direct a complete scam who are also known as horizon finance! so all i really got was a £33 phone bill! an had been scammed :(
These ppl r thieves, they run their lending bsiness money inorder to steal money from ppl, once u hv contacted them they put some crazy interests on ur money,I borrowed 200pounds and nw they need abt a 1000pounds from me,bt lately they took almost 400pounds in my acc without my consent..::imagine.I regret contacting this company in the first place pliz avoid it by any means.
I took a loan out a few months ago....and paid them back on time..but i still got abusive calls and letters threatening me ..i was terrified to open the door at times, these thugs have to be stopped
I applied for a £100 loan as I'm a student and needed money to cover a cash shortfall. I did get sent the txt code and completed the application, and received a message telling me to send a screenshot of a bank statement to them, which I did. I then received nothing from them so logged in to their site where it said I had been declined, and sent an email explaining why. I had no email..... I applied again and the same thing happened, although this time I didn't got as far as sending a screenshot. Timewasters.... I just hope in 2 weeks time I don't get charged for a loan I never got!!
This company should be struck off, for months their online application would not work - neither would their SMS option, now when you apply they try to tell you that the card details you provide are not correct. I emailed them many times in the past and did eventually get a reply from one of their managers who said he would get back to me, surprise surprise, I am still waiting.....
I applied I got a kid to feed and everything the said I had been accepted. I paid the loan of on time. but still 6 months down the line they keep sending me letters after letters. its a joke. they gt there money and they still want more dont use these cow bois!
I took a loan of these guys a few months a go and paid them back. They continued to send me abusive letters and extremely threatening calls ( some to the effect of literally saying they would send round heavies to my door and let them do their work ). I had paid back and there was no way to contact them. I attempted to call but no one ever answered. I wrote emails, no one ever answered. This looks like a one man band loan shark operation. Eventually when i got a solicitor and the police envolved they stopped these threats. I had trouble sleeping at night and got very ill because of the constant abuse this company gave me. My solicitor did some research and found out the company is being run by a criminal by the name of Oliver Larholt who already has spent time inside for gun offenses. " Does this sound like the kind of company you want to deal with, well done OFT for giving these crooks a license ". Apparently they are being shut down by the OFT see http://www.oft.gov.uk/news-and-updates/press/2010/116-10 . If you have a loan with this company you dont need to pay it back i hear, report them to the OFT on 08457224499 and state their license number 615666 The sooner these criminals and Mr Oliver Larholt gets sent back to prison the better. I urge you not to use this company.
Applied, did everything asked of me by the website/text etc, no confirmation, no decline notice, no money. E-mailed them twice with no reply, my advice is simply don't waste your time with these cowboys.
I applied about an hour ago and I am still waiting for a 4 digit code that they have "apparently" sent by sms to my phone, to complete the application. Can't contact them either!
They are trading just received a loan off them and got the full 300 i asked for, they are difficult to contact
